Molly McCahan Accepted to Dumbarton Oaks Summer Workshop

In May 2022, I attended the Garden and Landscape Studies on History and Historiography with Thaïsa Way at Dumbarton Oaks, Washington D.C. This three week workshop brought together graduate students from a variety of fields ranging from human geography to anthropology, art history and landscape architecture. As a cohort, we participated in daily seminars, took excursions to historic Jamestown and Williamsburg, and discussed the role of historians in creating a culture of care. I was able to present my work on the Cemeteries of Southern Louisiana, and learn from my fellow scholars in deeply meaningful conversation. See the press release of my acceptance from the Knowlton School website here. See more information on Garden and Landscape Studies at Dumbarton Oaks here.
